Well the big hustle in our small city has erupted with the explosion of the Air New Zealand Fashion Week starting last night in Auckland City. The Viaduct harbour plays host to some of the countrys biggest names in fashion, while some choose to play off course and arrange secret hide out events around the city.

Today I am viewing Cybele range 'Utopia' for our Summer 08/09. This promises to produce hand stenciled fabrics in maxi dress and mini dress form alongside billowy shapes and fabrics with varying states of transparency.

Tonight I am getting a sneak at Nom*D, a New Zealand favourite. This season they have created a range called 'Insiders' which creates a play on the words 'inside out and outside in'.

I will spill the beans later today on what I see so stay tuned!!

Derek Henderson is one of those kiwis that gets tired of digging for worms everyday and sets off to find out what new and exciting insects the world has to offer him. He has become an internationally respected photographer known mostly for his work in fashion magazines such as Arena Homme Plus, ID, and Vogue and has recently moved from London to Bondi beach in Sydney with his family.

His previous corporate work with huge companies like Coca Cola and Levis, numerous exhibitions and having published two books, 'The Terrible Boredom of Paradise' and most recently 'I Go Down To The River To Pray', are just not enough for this kiwi. He is currently working with directors from Sydney Theatre Company, Cate Blanchett and her husband Andrew Upton, on a publicity campaign, and is about to shoot the summer campaign for Country Road and a worldwide campaign for 42 below Vodka....phew!

Read more and see his photographs here at anyonegirl.com

They are brilliant. Crisp, and sensitive the photographs hold a moment in time be it with the sensitivity to light or the capturing of ones mood. They are rich in kiwi and I am proud to say, just beautiful.

The people of our town have been graced with some great tunes as of late. This would all be thanks to the wonderfully dressed girls of La Beat Debauchery. Three foursome pair up every few weekends to play for a keen audience who are sippin', dancin', and lovin' this team to pieces! They wear cute lil' outfits (matching of course) and have the best collection of vinyl I have ever witnessed.

Heres their latest poster for their next gig in Auckland at the ever loved D.O.C bar....
See you there!
I spent the long weekend in Welllington last week where i found my beautiful friends getting their inner nautical- glam- girl on at the MAC counter in Kirkaldie & Stains. Check out the photos I got of them wearing the new range and some lil extras!

Adam Bryce ( from Slamxhype) and Ben King are founders of New Zealand's first blogging site. The Wire showcases New Zealand's finest from artists, musicians, writers, chefs and more. With daily blogs, news and features, up's and down's, and the latest from the boys, The Wire produces a platform for the rest of the globe to check out our countries talent.

I attended their launch last week at Croydon Photography Studios, with performances by White Birds And Lemons and a solo show by Kirsten Morelle (from New Zealand band Goldenhorse). Big congrats to the boys for a great night and not running out of alcohol. x

Not many New Zealander's can say that they have Puff Daddy and Macy Gray as fans! But that's the case for Aucklander Gin Wigmore. Three years ago she bet 11,000 others to win a prestigious songwriting competition judged by those three superstars. What's incredible is that she was only 18 years old at the time, and not even sure she wanted to have a career in music. She's obviously changed her mind, having just signed with Island Records Australia. Her first EP will be released later this month. Check out this latest report on Gin from our daily news channel on the link below..

She is cute and has a huge vocal range.. check out her songs here..

Bills suck. But you just gotta pay em! I sort my bills out by working for New Zealand's top fashion designer, Kate Sylvester. I work at the flagship store in High St, Auckland. Everyday I get to wear and sell her beautiful collections. Our summer season has just been viewed by an awaited audience today at Australia's Fashion Week 2008/09. Unfortunatly, here in New Zealand, we are just about to jump in the puddle of winter so these cute lil pieces wont be touching my sweet lil limbs anytime soon...oh! but when they do! mmmmmm.....x

Enjoy these pics taken on the runway today.

Thanks to Vogue Australia for the pictures!

Our seasons are changing here in New Zealand from summer time to the colourful autumn. A time in which I love to go for a walk at the best time of the day, dusk. Last night, walking home, the sky errupted into an orange inferno! The light was amazing and I just had to get my camera out! Hope you enjoy the pics..
