The people of our town have been graced with some great tunes as of late. This would all be thanks to the wonderfully dressed girls of La Beat Debauchery. Three foursome pair up every few weekends to play for a keen audience who are sippin', dancin', and lovin' this team to pieces! They wear cute lil' outfits (matching of course) and have the best collection of vinyl I have ever witnessed.

Heres their latest poster for their next gig in Auckland at the ever loved D.O.C bar....
See you there!
A silent concert? ..... seems unlikely? Well The Sads are looking at breaking that expectation with their silent concert at the Westwood Art Forum in LA next week. The audience will be given headphones to listen to the 'concert' while there is also a video installation shown on the walls. Mike Mills, who has worked with everyone from Air to Yoko Ono will be conducting this experimental progression from the usual musical experience.

Adam Bryce ( from Slamxhype) and Ben King are founders of New Zealand's first blogging site. The Wire showcases New Zealand's finest from artists, musicians, writers, chefs and more. With daily blogs, news and features, up's and down's, and the latest from the boys, The Wire produces a platform for the rest of the globe to check out our countries talent.

I attended their launch last week at Croydon Photography Studios, with performances by White Birds And Lemons and a solo show by Kirsten Morelle (from New Zealand band Goldenhorse). Big congrats to the boys for a great night and not running out of alcohol. x

Not many New Zealander's can say that they have Puff Daddy and Macy Gray as fans! But that's the case for Aucklander Gin Wigmore. Three years ago she bet 11,000 others to win a prestigious songwriting competition judged by those three superstars. What's incredible is that she was only 18 years old at the time, and not even sure she wanted to have a career in music. She's obviously changed her mind, having just signed with Island Records Australia. Her first EP will be released later this month. Check out this latest report on Gin from our daily news channel on the link below..

She is cute and has a huge vocal range.. check out her songs here..

If I just blocked out the 40+ year old men trying to some how launch themselves at each other ie: moshing, or the man in front of me handing out smuggled-in beers to his work mates, I would have been transported to the middle of Leeds in some dark and grimey bar where the barman would have ignored your request for malt beer and handed you what ever was going..... The Jam played in Auckland, in a sit down??? theatre where you could see all the people in city who had just made hundereds of babysitters happy with work! It was funny but the band were very cool! Originally The Jam was led by Paul Weller who is one of my favourites, but these guys didnt seem to lack anyones presence. They knew these songs inside out. They rocked out and jumped around and told us they loved it here. I was a little concerned for the drummer but after a big bottle of water he seemed to come to. They looked cool, they sounded great and I was up singing and clapping with my new generation friends in no time!!
