botkier fall 2010.jpg

My first attempt at a short film was with the honor of working with New York brand botkier for their Fall 2010 Collection. They make the yummiest, soft leather bags and shoes... here is a tester of what's to come!

Vintage kimonos....

LOVE these vintage kimono's. The colors and textures are enough to just hang on your wall- imagine what it would feel like to wander around in one of these both at home on a lazy morning or a loose aesthetic for the weekend over you jeans and tee, because hey, the word "kimono", literally means a "thing to wear". Worn wrapped around the body, always with the left side over the right and secured with a sash- which is always tied at the back, but I'm wondering if we can stretch tradition and wear it with a leather belt instead?

Tea ceremony anyone? Read more here

Dana Lee makes clothes for men that their girlfriends love, and steal. To showcase the androgynous appeal we shot Dana Lee's new Fall/Winter 2010 collection on a very appropriately  humble and relaxed model, Dani Griffiths. It was if the clothes were made for her! She looked so great, we all stood around very envious! Styled by Elizabeth and Brandon of Dana Lee's exceptional staff and photographed by Maya Villager of Turnedout. We waiting for the 10.30am sunlight to pour in through the windows of Dana Lee's beautiful SoHo studio of white brick walls and black floor boards. The images looked so yummy, cosy and relaxed.

A huge thank you to Maya, Dani, Elizabeth, Brandon and Dana for Saturday mornings shoot. I'm excited to share what we came up with!

SLAMXHYPE.COM and Ninja Assassin DVD are giving you the chance to win a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Tokyo with "This Is Harajuku" a competition which will see one lucky winner flown to Japan to experience the phenomenal Harajuku culture and meet with some of the most influential people in street culture today.

It may have been born on the streets of New York, but since the global rise of street
culture in the early 90s the creative and cultural heart of the scene has been Japan.
More specifically, Tokyo's Harajuku district, home to the uhu-harajuku scene which
brings together a melting pot of nearly every youth culture from the last 50 years.
With insanely high attention to heritage and detail this movement is unlike
anything else in the world.

The Harajuku scene has provided a diverse and rich source of inspiration for
legendary Tokyo-based labels Neighborhood, Visvim and W)Taps. While these may
not be recognizable names to many fashion fans, they are treated with deity-like
reverence by street culture fanatics across the world.

SLAMXHYPE.COM is one of the few places those outside of Japan can get an
insight into what is really happening on the Tokyo scene, and now we are going even
further by giving one lucky reader an amazing chance to experience it in person.
The winner of 'This Is Harjuku" will score flights, accommodation and $1000 spending
money for a four-day immersion in the culture that we have been affected by in such
a big way.

SLAMXHYPE.COM has organized a mind-blowing guided itinerary that will provide a

Being a dancer I always think it is exciting when choreography collides with fashion. The Last Magazine has teamed up with Benjamin Millepied and Y-3 to produce a short visual entitled The Third Wave. Energetic and fluid the Y-3 collection is showcased to it's full malleable potential, The Third Wave was choreographed by Benjamin Millepied, with music by Patrik Berger, and features Millepied, a principal dancer at the New York City Ballet, together with four young dancers, including Jessica Saund from American Ballet Theatre.
