A recent skateboard exhibition 'Decked Out' held at Wellington's infamous ALC headquarters 'Manky Chops Gallery' saw some of the local artists put up some of their signature work onto the ever used canvas of a skateboard.
This is a some what exhausted avenue for some, i know, but I had to share just this one.

Created by Noah Butcher of PoMo for the exhibition, this one was named IceCream.
Funny that.

I was sent a beautiful postcard by one of my girlfriends who is being a gypsy at the moment, traveling around on her own, meeting amazing landscapes and people... and postcards. She sent me a postcard for my birthday which she later told me was picked up from a cafe while she was in Denmark. The painting on the cover was very beautiful, and it wasn't until this morning that I found out who the artist was... Mia Overgaard.

A wonderful artist originally from Denmark, and trained not only through art school but is a design school graduate too.... She did her work experience with Bettina Bakdal, and is now living in New York City running her own label Miaomiao.

Overgaard offers prints of her art work, over sized tees with her work on, and an opening into her world of magical, light sensitive and colourful work. Have a look at her site here. And have alook at some of her best stuff here at anyonegirl.com..... Enjoy!

It seems now that the worlds of street photography and fashion photography are starting to blur the lines even more. Just taking straight up and down shots is not enough for our standards anymore, we need attention to detail and colour consideration all encompassing that 'coincidental-shot' feeling that we get from the street. We still love fashion editorials, but it seems lately the ones that get us are the ones that have the un-forced feeling mixed with high fashion details.

There is a new site around called ilikemystyle.net which holds room for a community to share their personal street shots. Be it the next Linlee Allen or your nextdoor neighbour playing around with their new Leica, the site is worth a look through.

Heres one of my favourite recent street shots taken by the master himself, thesatorialist. I love the simplicity and light in this photo. He does a wonderful job of capturing the strength behind each of his chosen ones, which is apparent here.

A silent concert? ..... seems unlikely? Well The Sads are looking at breaking that expectation with their silent concert at the Westwood Art Forum in LA next week. The audience will be given headphones to listen to the 'concert' while there is also a video installation shown on the walls. Mike Mills, who has worked with everyone from Air to Yoko Ono will be conducting this experimental progression from the usual musical experience.

Our seasons are changing here in New Zealand from summer time to the colourful autumn. A time in which I love to go for a walk at the best time of the day, dusk. Last night, walking home, the sky errupted into an orange inferno! The light was amazing and I just had to get my camera out! Hope you enjoy the pics..
