December 2008 Archives

For those long summery evenings that linger on the horizon you need that perfect place to curl up and enjoy the view, your surroundings, and peace. I found these in a New Zealand living  magazine called Urbis that will fill that gap in your soul in no time.

Made by Germany Design team Dimhausen 9, not only do these treetop escapes answer every childhood dream and bring you closer to nature, they are built at the forefront of architectural innovation. Not every tree is made to withstand a small home on their back so most are re-enforced or built off the side.

Mostly built for family homes and gardens they like to design their 'nutshells' with an organic aesthetic so the wooden capsules blend into their natural surrounding environment.

I love them and I really want one x
We have been doing some great road trips around our North Island over the last few weekends as the weather gets warmer and warmer down here. I love getting out of the city and getting to explore this beautiful country I live in. New Zealand's east coast is the master of producing wonderful beaches, one of which is Mount Manganui. We visited here last weekend and did some amazing coastal walks around the mountain..

With the recent hype over the new James Bond movie Quantum Of Solace, I had a look at the design team behind the ever famous credit artwork and design. MK 12 is the ideas team behind those image infested credits at the start of the movie, that keep your eyes following that lingering smoke from the first fired gun. The integration between font and image is wonderful and still lends to the style in which we know and love of James Bond movies.

MK 12 have worked with global companies such as Levis, Adidas, Budweiser, MTV The Osbournes and created graphics for Stranger Than Fiction. Have a look at their website here.

Enjoy x
