The glamour, the artistry and level of imagination in a Judith Leiber handbag is mindboggling.     She makes the most exquisite evening and novelty bags in the world.  Birds, dogs, presents, flowers, buddas...the sky is the limit in terms of design vision.    The attention to detail and flawless craftsmanship is legendary.  These llittle sculptures or artworks as I like to think of them have been exhibited at the Met in NY, The Smithsonian Institute, The Victoria and Albert Museum and The LACMA.     Judith Leiber was born and raised in Budapest and learned the craft of handbag making during WWII.    She moved to NYC with her artistic husband Gerson and they started the company in 1963.    Now retired,  they have made custom  bags for many movie stars and almost every first lady dating back to 1963.    At home on the red carpet, party or the street, Judith Leiber is a classic with an edge.
