This was the 3rd time I have seen my obsession band at the bowl....and in no way was I disappointed. The band was tight, the visuals (light and video cam) never distracting, the sound  clear and trance evoking, but what I loved the most was the energy each band member exuded. Thom Yorke was playful, soulful, and inspired. Ed O'Brien genuinely smiled pretty much throughout the entire set as if he knew this night was a blast. Johnny Greenwood's head bowed down in his bass while his shiny black hair did it's shimmy.  Phil Selway and Colin Greenwood adding their unique contributions that make Radiohead unlike any other musical collaboration. The crowd was packed with LA's coolest but oddly enough, everyone was not playing cool...Radiohead humbles and levels the playing field....The highlight of the night for me was "Talk Show Host" and the 2nd encore..At that point, I hit my bliss and the crowd seemed to also. The concert for me did what I love music to do..Bring us together.

Women revolutionaries are featured this month on Ovation TV.  Sally Mann, Cindy Sherman, Martha Graham, Tina Turner and Sylvia Path are just a few of the women artists that are explored in documentaries on the cable channel. Check the local times in your area by visiting www.ovationtv.com.  I am loving it!!
I set my Tivo to record all the women..Truly inspirational.

In honor of Fathers Day, I decided to dedicate some blogosphere to my Dad.  Who in my opinion, is still one of the best photographers around.  Even though growing up, there was always a camera around, whereby Dad would capture my entire childhood and (oh God!) my awkward teens, I am forever grateful. I have a full pictorial history of my life that he shot behind the scenes. It was never posed, he never intruded, he just observed and had the uncanny talent to see and capture the right moment...Here are some of his more famous subjects from the Motown Era when he was chief photographer. And, one of us this past year.....He's still got it..Love Ya Dad!

Ok....I hope not to give away to much, but the photo above is from the official site and they obviously are not worried about spoiler alerts....Carrie in a wedding dress...The rest I will leave up for you to see or not see.  The film satisfied my need to catch up with the girls and my expectations were low.  I am more of the school of leave the party as it is peaking.  Which the series did.. The movie for me was welcomed, although the make-up, hair and wardrobe was pretty tranny looking to me.. Too much for it to be real and I needed my girls to be real.  I needed a little more reality to capture my full attention for 2 hours.. The movie does  try and stay true to the soul of their friendships and deals with some grown up relationship issues.. All in all, it made a really nice afternoon for my BFF and I to spend a some time....
PS as usual when Carrie goes Vogue, she goes Big...and its beautiful!!!!!

When You Are Engulfed in Flames
RELEASES JUNE 3, 2008
(hardcover: Little, Brown & Company, 2008)
(audiobook: Hachette Audio, June 3, 2008)

"David Sedaris's ability to transform the mortification of everyday life into wildly entertaining art," (The Christian Science Monitor) is elevated to wilder and more entertaining heights than ever in this remarkable new book.

Trying to make coffee when the water is shut off, David considers using the water in a vase of flowers and his chain of associations takes him from the French countryside to a hilariously uncomfortable memory of buying drugs in a mobile home in rural North Carolina. In essay after essay, Sedaris proceeds from bizarre conundrums of daily life-having a lozenge fall from your mouth into the lap of a fellow passenger on a plane or armoring the windows with LP covers to protect the house from neurotic songbirds-to the most deeply resonant human truths. Culminating in a brilliant account of his venture to Tokyo in order to quit smoking, David Sedaris's sixth essay collection is a new masterpiece of comic writing from "a writer worth treasuring" (Seattle Times).

Just got back from Maui, where I got to combine both work and play.  I went to bring Neal Preston's photography to the gallery.  While there, I enjoyed the best meals I have had in a long time in both Lahaina and Wailea.  There are Celebrites Gallery in both these beautiful cities and the work they carry is a combination of photography, high end memorabilia, and fine art all focused on the legends of music and film....Also, just for shear decadence after seeing the gallery in Wailea, eat the coconut/pineapple cake at Tommy Bahamas....I lost my mind over it!

DSC_0002.JPG Celebrity Vault has become my favorite place to visit when I need to see some jaw dropping beautiful fine art photography of Old Hollywood and Rock and Roll Royalty.  The gallery focuses on large size exclusive prints from an exclusive coterie of photographers..The space is large and the work hung well.  The staff very friendly and it's location is prime 90201...Close to all the shops and eateries...If you live here go, and if visiting, it's a lovely place to stop by while checking out Bev Hills..Please let the owners (Klaus and Cole) know I sent ya!!!

dastitle.jpgI have been a longtime member of the church of Radiohead, and for me their visit is akin to the Pope coming to visit devout Catholics. So, as I scour the website looking for dates here in LA, I feel the intense devotion for this band gain momentum, until I click on the icon for DATES only to reveal that the show is SOLD OUT..No can't be, but yes it is.  And even though I am not a devout Catholic..I will say a few novenas hopefully blessing me with tickets someway, somehow.....Radiohead will play in August at the Hollywood Bowl 24th and 25th....Any angels out there listening to my prayers?

Apparently, in a past life I WAS a cheap ass stripper (Damn the internet, everything is out there!!!!)......Does this mean I need to retract my last post?? ab9d_1.JPG
OK Its late and here I go......This says it all why I have become disgusted with reality celebrity.  The caption reads "Actress Heidi Montag debuts her clothing line, Heidiwood"  First off, this is now what is qualified as acting!!!! "The Hills!!!!!" Reality shows are churning out ACTORS!!! I beg to differ.. I am sorry, but I am gonna rant and I would say this to their faces ...I have had enough.. Enough of crap on TV being passed off as entertainment..Enough of everyone and their mother hawking their cheap ass clothes that end up making everyone who wears them look like cheap ass hookers...I get it, this is a town where people come to live their dreams and that is all this girl is trying to do....But shes out there and I saw it and I am just saying........Tell me I am not alone in my dismay...please...

The photo says it all.....(sorta reminds me of the band Hole's album cover)
