Thanks to designer Thom Browne the shrunken suit high water pant is making a comeback.    Women are wearing it too, cuffing their pants up to show off heels and sandals for summer.

Judging by the number of bared ankles appearing on the streets this summer, the rolled cuff look of 2009 appears to have become the rolled cuff epidemic of 2010. Legions of young men, including ones who are not bicycle messengers, are rolling up their pants legs to such high-water lengths that one is tempted to inquire where exactly the auditions for the Huckleberry Finn revival are being held. A style born on the shores of the Mississippi has been reinvented for the streets of Bushwick.

"It's almost like a masculine shabby chic," said Tom Julian, a fashion consultant and the author of two men's style books with Nordstrom.

Every five years or so, the fashionable male discovers some styling trick to make the same old thing wearable in a dandy new way -- the deep jeans cuff, the double-flipped shirt-sleeve cuff -- and the next thing you know, men are trying it in Midtown.

About us
The label Garland Coo is a brand new creative collaboration of designer Jasmin Isabel Eckerle and artist Marcel Singer, founded 2009 in the deep south of Germany.

With their aesthetic beliefs both refuse to be categorized or assimilated by the establishment.
Through their artistic view, Jasmin Isabel Eckerle and Marcel Singer express and rise the tension btween the polarities fashion - art - and so called "Heimat".

Garland Coo describes the elementary confrontation and dichotomy between civilisation, nature
and mind, the collection can be described as an analogy of the cultural and natural heritage of the
designers. Their roots are deeply anchored in south German culture, in the Black Forest, in their
native landscape as a deep source of inspiration.Thumbnail image for GarlandCoo_acc06.jpg Thumbnail image for GarlandCoo_acc11.jpg

VANESSA BRUNO LANDS IN LOS ANGELES

French designer Vanessa Bruno's first foray into the American market takes shape in July 2010 as she prepares to open her first-ever U.S flagship store.

Situated at 8448 Melrose Avenue in the heart of West Hollywood's retail metropolis, the 2700 square foot boutique is a collaborative design between both Vanessa Bruno and David Exbrayat and evokes the brand's signature deconstructionist approach via contrasting materials that give the impression of a contemporary boudoir, mixing old details with modern pieces.

"Los Angeles seems like an obvious beginning for me in America" reveals the designer. "The all-encompassed, ultra-healthy L.A way of life corresponds more with my personal vision of fashion and my quest of dressing women in a way that can be chic, but also perfectly in-sync with an urban lifestyle. I'm curious to discover the apparent contrasts that stretch across this gigantic city, and to really observe the ways in which creative communities co-exist."

In addition to the signature ready-to-wear Winter 2010 / 2011 collection as well as accessories and shoes, the boutique will also carry the diffusion line Athé.Variations of the designer's trademark sequin "cabas" tote and assorted classic design pieces will also be available, many of which have successfully contributed to the popular description of the brand as "the passion of Parisian sophisticates: très chic mais pas trop cher."

As 2010 marks the brand's fourteenth year, the line is available in over 50 boutiques worldwide spanning 40 countries. Upcoming stores slated to open later this year are in London, Beirut and Bordeaux, respectively.

Co-inciding with the opening of the boutique will be the third fashion / film collaboration starring French actress Lou Doillon, as well as arrival of Vanessa Bruno herself, as she embarks upon her first-ever visit to Los Angeles. An intimate dinner will be hosted with select VIP guests and international media, and a larger celebration is scheduled to take place post-Paris Fashion Week in October.
