Profile:

At the tender age of 21, I moved to New York City to become a photographer. After 10 years of fantastic voyages, I escape the cold winters and live in Miami where I am from. A gal pal and I started a stationary, toy, library card company called, A HOME IN THE SKY.

Coming Down South for the Art Basel fun? Going to catch Madonna VIP in Rome, bring ear plugs for DJ Paul Oakenfold. Jumping on a jet with P. Diddy to party in St. Barths for New Years Eve? Oh wait, he flies coach now like the rest of us. Well, if you came back in this life  as Edie Segwich and you are the party girl queen of the social scene, don't let the recession get you down! You can still get your make-up done for free at the Mac counter and then run on over to Ilus located at  248 Elizabeth Street near Prince st, phone 646-454-1678. It is known as the "luxury for lease" boutique in Nolita that offers three-day dress rentals. Beautiful brands such as Miu Miu, Badgley Mischka, and Gucci for your viewing pleasure. But if you break it, you buy it! So don't pull a Borat and bring a bull in a china shop. You can rent a designer bag, jewelry, shawls, and clutches! Oh My! So don't worry about getting caught in the same outfit twice, you have a place to go and you'll look twice as nice! Blue dress.jpg

Miami people escape the techno, rhinestones, continuous car riding and venture to New York for Proper Pizza, Bagels and Amazing Shopping. In both cities, attending an event is usually required. Especially during Art Basel, and I do suggest booking tickets now due to the funky fuel prices. But incase you pull a "Carrie Bradshaw" and break your "Choo" you need to follow Smoky and his Bandit down the yellow brick road to Adams Shoe Repair! Yes you will meet the wizard Adam there; along with Julio Englasis and Rabbi Frank, who is famous down here for marrying Jews to non- Jews. On his headshot he writes to the Lovely China ( owner along side with adam) ,"To the best shoe repair in the world from SOUL to SOLE." It's one of those emergency places that can recover your shoes with fabric or leather, refinish and dye shoes, put new "souls" on your shoes so you can dance the night away, and incase you get mugged, they can repair handbags and luggage. All ready for you the next day! When they shine your shoes, they look like stars! And the best part, sometimes little nice old ladies accidently leave their Gucci, Channel, you name it designer shoes, for years and there is a pile that you can pick from! THIS IS THE BEST SHOE REPAIR, and China has many lovely stories to share about her baby daughter!

HEELS WHILE YOU WAIT!

In 1990, Miami was a hotspot for photography advertisements, catalog work, and a playground for fine artists. The Versace campaign was shot at The Raleigh pool, before South Beach turned into Disneyland. Nikki Taylor was signed to Irene Marie which was one of the hottest agencies around the modeling universe. Madonna lived here. DARKROOMS were needed and they were ready and available. Sadly, Madonna left and took them with her. Enter, The Darkroom and Digital lab in Wynwood and I am in heaven. I've been through 2 labs here and you really don't need to hear me complain, but you're nobody till some Darkroom loves you, pays attention to your needs, and if you are crazy about your files and negatives, like this crazy blonde, well I would leave all my negs with them just like Suzy J, but we will talk about her later. I would FED-X my work there, photographers do. To begin, they have no sign on the outside wall. The first time I walked in, I said that and Randy shouted, "We don't believe in advertising!" It's like going to a speakeasy, instead of booze they have chemicals. Secondly, Randy Mitchel and Bryan Bogater have been MASTER printers for 25 years printing for stars like : Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, Peter Beard, Suzy J Horgan, Hype Williams ( I am still waiting for my blind date Randy ) and many other stars. They have every type of paper and can print Billboard size if you need them too. The best part is that you can sit right next to them and tell them what should be what, or just stop by everyday and annoy them like I do!

5 stars!!!!!

The Evens.jpgMy doctor called me on Tuesday and asked me if I ever heard of Hashimoto? My response was, "Oh that Japanese disco I missed while living it up in Tokyo scene?"
"No!" he said in a serious stern voice. "You may have a thyroid condition." I must say that GOD gave me height;I'm 5'10, not health. There is always something new and exciting for me to look forward too concerning the demise of my body and soul. Yes, I cried out loud and accidentally bumped into the car in front of me, but the lady had no idea what was going on because she had earphones plugged in while driving. Perhaps she thought Florida suffered its first earthquake.

I got home and decided to clean my room to distract myself and found the evens CD that I bought at Books&Books. I finally played it after 5 months of it camping out underneath my bed. The first song entitled, "shelter two" had amazing lyrics that I could relate to. the evens sing: "went to Arlington hardware to buy some electrical tape, you went to Tulsa and I'm going to wait. it's all downhill from here." the evens are Ian Macaye and Amy Farina, and boy oh boy does Amy have a beautiful voice. And as Amy sings, "it's all downhill from here," over and over again, I felt better and embraced the negativity because finding out yet again I have another rare disease that no one else
Back of Evens cover.jpg has ever heard of will only make me stronger, right?? Furthermore, this record was recorded and mixed at inner ear studios, which made me like it even more because in Aug of 2005 amazing doctors thought I had a rare inner ear condition. FUN STUFF! In conclusion, this record is miraculous, so buy it! It made me feel better. And if anyone ever has a question about Vertigo, I may be able to help!
