I am a Girly Girl, put me in a tutu and some vintage shoes, and I am off to the prom. Blessed are the women at the mac counters who will provide the client with their whimsical palette of colors, for free. I let my ringlets loose and I feel as vain, as a vain person can be. So what, it's an escape. Sometimes I'm so dressed up my parents ask if I forgot my cuckoo pills at home. When I discovered Lula Magazine I used it as my style bible. Furthermore, instead of hot green tea, I would curl up with it in bed and enjoy a hour or so of momentary mental wandering. I am no longer croaking of loneliness, I have dresses from designers I've never heard of before, cool articles on actors that are not fluff, photo lighting skills that I cannot figure out how to do, and beautiful fonts in bed with me. The photography is romantic, and the editor has a keen eye. He doesn't follow trends, Lula stands out and uses all styles of writing, styling, and imaging. The clothes are wizardly wild, everyone including the writers, stylists, make-up artists and illustrators make that magazine delicious. Of course, it's British. My Jewish mother, who accidentally steals napkins from Starbucks, tries to per sway me to stick to Vogue and count my pennies in this wonderful economy. I'm sort of listening, but I collect it! Some people are into collecting :stamps, baseball cards, cats, or babies. Besides, while flipping through Vogue today, at a rather fast pace, it looks as if Anna Wintor's aura has ring around the collar. They are re-using images, the articles are short, and I'm not inspired. Again, I understand the economy and I'm not going to be able to purchase every magazine I want too. I'm thinking of that wonderful techno song on ,"My so called Life," entilted "Please don't go!" This magazine has to stay alive!!!! One of the hardest things in life is to know which bridges to cross and which bridges to burn.
