Last time I saw The Breeders, I "think" , it was Lalapalooza ages ago, and they ruled!
This Sunday ,they are playing at McCarren Park Pool for FREE!
 http://www.mccarrenpark.com/

Word to the wise,... when , I should say If, they play "Cannonball", please don't act like a little school girl and try to do a cannonball into the pool, because there is no water yet to absorb your dumb ass. If my memory serves me right, I think this is the last year that the pool will hold shows, next year it will be a fully functioning swimming hole FULL  of germs and Baby Ruths.

So if you haven't yet seen a show at MPP, you really should!!  The pool is sooo GIGANTIC, ( no pun intended) that you can see it from outerspace!!!  AND , for the best view stand in the deep end, don't worry you won't drown.

GOLLY, I AM FULL OF PUNS TODAY!! xoxo BLAIRWEAR

I've started a personal collection of them. They also make a good gift for a child, or a tall kid like myself.

For those of you who are pet lovers, this is especially cool. For $200 you can have a custom painted portrait of your pet. And My friends/readers these are so cool, they almost look like a "paint by number" of your pet, and hand painted by Kira herself.kira.gif

The DIA BEACON is in Beacon , New York on the Hudson. The Museum is in the old Nabisco Factory and is a collection of art from the 1960's to present. You can take Metro North and the train literally drops you off right there! No cabs needed what-so-ever.

The building itself is an art piece. You aren't allowed to take any pictures in the museum  which blows but its still worth the trip.

Yes, while in Miami on vacation I did many things and I even went to a MUSEUM ....on a nice beach day!

I have to say that most contemporary museums bore me , but this one blew my mind. The Rubell Family Collection started in 1964 and is one of the leading collections in the world. The building that houses the art was actually an old warehouse owned by the Drug Enforcement Agency that stored confiscated goods! It's HUUUUUGGGGEEE.

My FAVORITES:
Artist Mai-Thu Perret " Apocalypse Ballet"

(When I saw this , I wanted to put on my tutu and hit the  Home Depot lighting isle.)

Artist Jason Rhoades ( r.i.p.)
If this piece was for sale, and fit in my suitecase I would have taken it home like a lost puppy that day! His neon lights looked like a giant chandelier from Never Never Land.

The Rubell Family Collection is located at 95 NW 29th St in Miami Florida.
Admission is $10. website: http://www.rubellfamilycollection.com
