Casa de Milagros (Home of Miracles) is a children's home in the Sacred Valley near historic Machu Picchu, Peru. It was founded by the Chandler Sky Foundation to heal the mind, body and spirit of many of the thousands of orphaned and abandoned children living in poverty on the streets of Cusco, Peru and surrounding towns. Casa de Milagros provides shelter, food, clothing, basic medical care, and education and arts programs that promote self-confidence and self-worth for children in need. This is done in a truly unique environment in which progressive programs are used to foster a healthy and positive consciousness. Based on the philosophy that we must start at the root of the problem, healing and educating children so that they can give back to their community, The Chandler Sky Foundation aims to provide positive long-term benefits to the region's social and environmental problems.

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th!!  I sure did.  I went to the Stanley Cup party in Malibu and there were tons of great peeps there!  Gabrielle Reece was fabulous and did not have a mark on her flawless body and she just gave birth 6 months ago (to the cutest baby ever!!). Laird Hamilton was there too, Kid Rock, Jeremy Piven, John McGinley, Tom Hanks, Sylvester Stallone, Reggie Miller, Jerry Bruckheimer, Ray Liotta, David Spade, Wayne Gretzky and Detroit Redwings Players who won the Stanley Cup: Chris Chelios, Daren McCarty, Jiri Hudler and Dan Cleary.

I love this book!  This def put a smile on my face when I went through it. I'm such a die hard Angeleno and usu like to think "I know it all," especially when it comes to LA and surrounding areas.  Obvi, that's just not the case.  This book is filled with fabulous information on excellent vintage and used shopping spots, book stores, historic hotels, old school eatery's, record stores, bars, theater's and famous landmarks, in all of the coolest areas of Los Angeles.
