Better Bacon Tees feature designs by kids and young adults with developmental disabilities.  I found them to be super soft and super cute.  I especially dig the hang tag too.  You get a Polaroid of the artist and a personal statement describing themselves and their creative outlets.

Nov York City is an exhibition of new works by Eric Haze, based on Dumar Brown's novel The World Screaming Nov

DSC03218.JPG
Dumar Brown (aka NOV) is an author and graffiti artist who was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.  Nov York is the first in a series of books about "a kid from Brooklyn who devotes his life to graffiti, (and his life is) juxtaposed with the life of a star (the kind up in space)."

Born and raised in New York City, Eric Haze has been making his impact felt in the worlds of art, product and graphic design for over 30 years.  After spending the 70's and early 80's on the front lines of the graffiti movement, Haze opened his design studio in 1986, becoming one of the first visual artists to define the look and graphic look of Hip Hop during it's golden years.  Some of his most classic works include designs for Public Enemy (I love Public Enemy), EPMD, LL Cool J and the Beastie Boys.

Marc Ford, formerly of the Black Crowes, is a total bad ass. Not to mention there were quite a few hotties, I have not seen before, at his show...All around bonus.

Coming off a successful set of performances recently at SXSW, indie rocker Leroy Powell and the Messengers performed last week at the Viper Room, in Los Angeles.  Formerly with Shooter Jennings, Leroy is currently working on an album entitled "Angles and Curves."   His music reflects rock, blues and country sounds.  Yeah...he's a total nectar.  I just about passed out when I met him too.  Leroy's next show is at The Roxy May 20th.
